EMS Revenue Recovery Program County schedules public education sessions As part of a countywide public awareness effort to inform citizens about Louisa County’s new EMS Revenue Recovery Program, public education sessions have been scheduled for the following dates: Monday, April 14, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Jouett Elementary School Monday, April 28, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Louisa County Middle School Monday, May 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Trevilians Elementary School These sessions will provide information about the County’s EMS Revenue Recovery Program, how citizens will be affected and how the program will be implemented. Citizens are encouraged to attend to learn more about the program. The EMS Revenue Recovery Program is designed to sustain the amount of funding available for local emergency medical services by collecting a user fee for ambulance transports. A patient’s insurance company will be billed for the services but if a patient is not transported to an emergency medical facility, the patient will not be billed. Louisa County residents will have the option of joining an annual subscription service for ambulance transports. By paying a flat annual fee of $65 per household, any member of that household will be exempt from paying any portion of an ambulance transport fee, including deductibles and co-payments. The subscription plan will have a 90-day enrollment period through the months of June, July and August of each year. Subscription plan information is available online at www.louisacounty.com or by request.
