The jewel of Louisa County's living and recreational opportunities is found at Lake Anna. Lake Anna is approximately 17 miles long containing 13,000 acres of clean water for boating and fishing. The lake offers 250 miles of shoreline with various contours and scenic views. It is home of the 2,000 acre Lake Anna State Park and the North Anna Power Station.

The county offers many historical sites, community events, sports, and yearly festivals. Large mall shopping, symphony, opera, theater, ballet, film, and collegiate and professional sports are abundant in Richmond (45 minutes from center of county), Charlottesville (25 minutes), and Washington, DC (75 minutes).
