Virginia Ranked No. 1 for Economic Growth Potential
In the 2011 State Rankings Report, Business Facilities magazine has ranked Virginia No. 1 for Economic Growth Potential.
When determining its Economic Growth Potential ranking, Business Facilities evaluated locations against criteria such as job creation, project development, incentives programs and availability of a skilled workforce.
The study also factored in the state’s growth strategy, favoring states with diverse initiatives and cooperation among government, business and educational institutions.
Virginia has been active in identifying and pursuing opportunities that will bring the Commonwealth more jobs and assert the state’s competitiveness in the global market. An important part of this activity has been the creation of the Economic Development and Job Creation Commission and the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing.
Virginia also ranked No. 3 for Best Business Climate.
